ain't no day at the beach

Make no mistake, just because Charlie is on paternity leave and most days we sit around the back yard blowing bubbles, while burgers cook on the grill and the children spray each other with the hose, this is NO vacation.

Like Monday, when we went to the park to fly our kite, we walked there. And, then, we had to look around for a solid three minutes for the perfect shady spot to set up our picnic lunch.

And yesterday, after we got back from a grueling day of building sand castles and jumping in waves at the beach, we had to give three sandy toddlers a warm bubble bath before laying on the couch and watching the most recent addition to our ever-growing movie collection, "A Bugs Life".

And today, after we got back from Sea World, we all had to take a two hour nap.

A. TWO. HOUR. NAP.

On a Wednesday.

Can you imagine?

This isn't easy, folks.

We're working our tushes off over here.

  8. SEE??? This is my life every day! Well, except we live in a hot barren desert and don't have the beautiful beach right there. But I don't think I'll ever get my husband to go back to work.

  9. you make it look soo easy. i know you are joking but ahh...I'm going to still hold onto that dream.

I'm enjoying the moment but also can't wait until my trio want to watch a disney move and we can all cuddle on the couch.

They are almost one and non-stop! They insist on us letting them hold our hands so they can walk - back and forth, back and forth. this is going to get tough as my belly grows.

please tell me it does get easier.
