back by popular demand

I've received several e-mails from people asking that I please re-post the triplet's first visit with Santa Claus in 2005. This photo has already been posted on the blog, but to save you time from searching the archives ... I proudly present the best Santa photo, ever.

I know, I know. I'm biased because they are after all, my kids. But I can't help but chuckle every time I look at this picture. William and Elizabeth were fine when I first put them on Santa's lap. It was when Carolyn (R) who had severe stranger anxiety was added to the mix - and she started screaming - that the whole operation went south. I'm convinced that multiples are synchronized and have an internal scream sensor whenever there is "DANGER! DANGER! DANGER!"

And, Santa?

There's a special place in heaven for the Patron Saint of Children.

  1. That is the funniest picture ever. The first time I saw it, I actually emailed to everyone I know! I was hysterical!

Okay, on a completely unrelated note, did you know there is aluminum in self-rising flour. I was making your mother's chicken pot pie today and noticed that. Wow! I just wanted to make a meal, not give the kids autism. (By the way, don't ever try to put potatos in that recipe. It's a BAADDD idea.) So I "discovered" that self-rising flour is simply an extra tsp of baking powder and a 1/4 tsp of baking soda per one cup of regular flour. Who says you never cook from scratch by the way?

  2. P. S. I used aluminum-free baking powder and made the self-rising flour. I wonder if it will work?

  3. That picture is so awesome! I would put it as my screensaver if it wasn't a creepy thing to have some one else's kids (who you don't actually know) as your screensaver. Santa's expression is priceless!

Santa's face is PRICELESS. What a good sport!

I feel their pain - I had a massive fear of Mall Santa as a child. It was quite irrational, but c'est la vie. haha.

  17. I love this picture!!! You should consider sending it into the Ellen show...she showcases horrible pictures with Santa.

I, too, think that those men who are willing to portray Santa each December should have a special place in Heaven. My 6 month old tugged fiercely on Santa's real beard the other day at the mall and then promptly spit up over his red suit.

  18. I think that's the best Santa picture ever and I've never even met your kids! Absolutely hilarious.

  19. That is hilarious and has officially made my week. It also makes me think that maybe it would not have been so bad to just let the kids scream it out with Santa rather than join in the photo with them yesterday....

  25. I've been reading your blog for a few months now, and I always laugh, but I've never needed a laugh like I needed one today. Thank you!!! My twins did a thermo-nuclear meltdown at the eye doctors today, we are 100% off schedule and I'm about to lose my mind. At least they will find me with a smile on my face.

  26. Oh my, That is a great picture and I can see why you would chuckle every time you look at it. I too believe that Triplets have that built in danger warning sign in them. They also have that "feed off each other" sign in them. Our trips are the same and they are so much fun.

  33. I just have to tell you that WE still have this picture when you sent out the first time w/your annual letter. I still love it and believe it or not ~ I bring it out every year as part of our decorations!!!!

It's getting a little tattered on the ends though - you might have to resend copies this year! ;-)

    Better luck this year! Marg

  40. LOL! Thank you, I really needed a laugh this morning! That picture is awesome! You really should send it in to Hallmark or something.

Also got me laughing out loud: "I just wanted to make a meal, not give the kids autism." Aluminum in flour? That's nuts. Now I'm off to check out what's in my baking ingredients!
