wednesday weigh in

This past weekend, Charlie and I went to a wedding for one of his co-workers.

It was the first time that we have ever left the children, while they were still awake, with real babysitters. Three babysitters, to be exact. Two teenagers whom were paid and Virginia, our dear 79-year old friend who just had a hip replacement and came over to serve as a live "Nanny Cam". While Virginia rested on the couch and made sure the non-blood-related babysitters never looked at our children cross, Charlie and I for the first time in our parenthood experience, left someone else in charge of feeding and putting all four of our children to bed.

Although I felt really pressed for time on Saturday afternoon, I took some time before getting ready to go to the gym. And I can sincerely say that taking one hour for myself really helped to decompress the stress and anxiety that had been building all day.

When I came home from working out, fully relaxed, and discovered that I could still easily fit in to a dress that I wore to a wedding almost eight years ago, before I gave birth to four children, I felt a renewed commitment to remaining physically fit.

Working out is a good thing.

Having to wear a strapless bra from eight years ago before you gave birth to four children and are currently nursing one is not such a good thing.

But that is easily rectified by a fancy evening out with your spouse and a satin shawl that elegantly drapes your bosom.

How are you doing with your goals?

  2. It's hard trusting other people. Now that Shayna has been in school, I'd trust just about anybody... poor kid! LOL! Hope you guys had fun!

I have lost a total of 25 lbs since I started... only 10 lbs to go! I have been sick for the last 4 weeks, so exercising has been on hold. Going to start back up when I can breathe.

  5. I didn't realize how long my other comment was...sorry :)

To sum it up, I'm doing well with my goals especially since I want nothing more than to sit on my lazy ____. The fact I'm still getting up at the end of the day says a lot. Only 22 more pounds to go and I pray I stay on track and get there. Right now it's working but the holidays are approaching. I will just have to use my OB/GYN's advice when I was pregnant with my first child, "only eat turkey so you fall asleep and eat nothing else!"

Even though it was probably great advice, he was NOT my OB/GYN with my second and third boys! He was a little too direct!
