our new morning soundtrack

Our house is always filled with music. In the morning, as soon as we wake up, we'll turn on the stereo and throughout the day, we'll listen to an assortment of music. Classical. Rock. Blues.

A couple years ago, I posted a video of the girls dancing to what was then, our favorite music to start the day. While I don't have a video to accompany these photos, here are a few pictures that William (my budding photographer) snapped off as Elizabeth and I got up and got ready to start our day, today.

Can you guess what song we were listening to?

It's no wonder our children have such awesome dance moves.

They are learning from a master.

My singing isn't so bad, either.

Although from the expression on Elizabeth's face (and Carolyn who is belting from the other side of the camera, "MOMMY! STOP SINGING!!") my children might tend to disagree.

  1. YMCA---la la la---I was swimming in the pool outdoors yesterday and thought of you. Iam going again today.

  2. Your blog brings me a lot of joy each day. Thank you for that. I wish I knew you in person since then maybe I would have some one that wouldn't be ashamed to dance proudly to The Village People. Y.M.C.A. Awesome song!

  3. Where are you going?!!!! You're twitter post has us curious!!!!:)

  4. I guess the music is one childhood hit... That is what is all about ... tell me this the song?
    please let me know ...

  5. Malu - the song is "YMCA" by The Village People. It's one of my favorite songs of all time!!!

The dance moves that I'm doing are Y ... M ... C (this is backwards) and A. Whenever I hear the music to this song, I can't help but bust out the moves!!!
