holy batman

The children are really getting excited about Christmas.

Like really, really excited.

We've been counting down the days and have been enjoying a different story from our Advent Storybook each night. Because I'm trying to impress upon the children what this holiday is all about, I've also been reading to them stories of Christ's birth from their Beginner's Bible.

While the children have enjoyed hearing these various stories, they've come to the conclusion that they don't like King Herod because of his plans to hurt "the wittle Baby Jesus."

So tonight, when I was getting the children ready for bed, I overheard them saying, "Put Batman up there on top of the stable. That way he can keep his eye on Baby Jesus and look out for that BAD King Hewod." I was really touched by their genuine compassion. Until someone added, "Yeah. That way if King Hewod gets too close, Batman can KICK him in the HEAD!"

It might be time to teach our children the song, "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me."

Since people have asked, here's the online store where we bought our Nativity, last year. But I see they are also selling them here for a comparable price. Personally, I love this little set. It is very durable and the children thoroughly enjoy playing with the sturdy wooden figures. (Batman not included.)
