spreading good cheer

I pulled my comment and the anonymous comment down that I referenced last night, early this morning. It is insane that I am awake when I could be sleeping, but my conscience got the better of me when I insinuated the person who left me the comment had less intelligence than a shoelace and in writing that, made the carpet cleaners of the world look bad.

For all I know, the person who left me the comment was the 10-year old boy from the park on Friday. The reason I put comment moderation on in the first place is so that I can just delete those comments that would otherwise cause me undue stress. It is for that reason I have chosen to delete the subsequent comment I received regarding rscheearch at an Elingsh uinervtisy, [and why] it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht frist and lsat ltteer is at the rghit pclae.

Gabman, I'm not going to get in to a battle of wits with you because it is a waste of my precious time. And, it's fundamentally wrong to attack someone who is unarmed. But feel free to check out the annual picture we took with Santa.

Unfortunately, the children still don't think too highly of Saint Nick. It took us almost 15 minutes to get a picture where the kids weren't crying and actually looking at the camera. It also required me to squeeze my 3-year old son and demand that he look at the person shaking the bells. I suppose that's what a woman who doesn't know how to raise kids does.

We received a package in the mail this week from my awesome cousin Regina. It should be saying a lot to say that words escape me. Anyone who not only offered to rescue my family from the wildfires and bring them to Fenway Park to see the Red Sox play in the World Series... and then, clothes my offspring in official Red Sox paraphernalia is right up there in my book of greatness.

And, she's a good dancer.

Because Elizabeth is almost completely potty trained, my mother sent her a pair of Princess shoes earlier this week. When William and Carolyn questioned where their shoes were, my mother sent them the following postcard, in the mail.

If anyone at the USPO happened to read this card while it was en route to us, who do you think they would have thought the recipient was?

Yesterday, I went to get my hair done. This is the first time I've been to the salon in ten months, so when the children saw me, my hair was eight inches shorter and had been expertly highlighted with blonde in contrast to my brown roots.

When I walked in the front door, William cast his eyes upon my head and said "Mommy. You look bweautiful." Then he added, "You have stwipes. Just like a zebwa."

And to think, it only cost me $120.00 to look like an animal from the zoo.

  1. I hear that zebras are all the rage these days....

I'm sure that you don't look like a zebra though. I envy you for going to the salon - it's probably something that I should do myself! Think I could ask them to make me look like a cheetah?

    And adorable picture!

  2. Ho, ho, ho!

I am glad the package from the Red Sox Santa arrived. The kiddos look great and am happy you enjoyed the surprise.

The family Christmas photo is adorable. You do look beautiful! I can't see your brown roots or your zebra stwipes!!

Keep up the good work and continue to follow your heart. If you see an injustice, listen to your inner voice and act on it. Your handling of the environmental mess in your neighborhood shows you care about the future of your world and your children's wellbeing. That is really what it is all about for you. I saw the post & your response last night. For those who missed it, I'll tell you, it was informative, to the point and of course, highlighted with Jen's sarcastic humor. But, I think you were right in removing it. Why give them the satisfaction?

    Keep "spreading good cheer"!!

  5. ha ha ha....oh he kills me!

    *still chuckling*

Yay you for going to the salon, it's been exactly 10 months for me too, apparently I only go on my birthday. Oddly enough, I had stripes last time too, so bad were the stripes that I had to go buy a box of hair coloring from the store and colored it that same day. Apparently, "natural" highlights doesn't mean what I thought it meant.

On another note, the outfits are adorable, I love the xmas pic, is Henry looking towards the heavens? and Grandma's postcard is the best! Would she like 2 more grandchildren? We'd love to adopt her!

  6. If you don't mind, I'd rather like a copy of that Elingsh uinervtisy rscheearch. It might come in handy in my line of work, wherein spelling *used to* matter.

    Your curious editor/writer friend,

  8. Merry Christmas! I love that family photo - I bet Santa was pleased he didn't have to fit all 4 children on his lap hehe. You are such a beautiful family - I am sure you are very proud of them all. you done good girl! Also love that postcard your mum sent - just beautiful! I hope it motivates them to ummm you know, "move" in the right direction hehe.

I missed the commenting stuff but you know, life is too short for crap so if they were spouting crap the best thing you can do for the whole universe is just to delete the comment. Dr OZ says you need to amputate some relationships from your life or it can poison you - i think that stands for IRL relationships as well as random commentors that have nothing better to do than to try to stir up trouble. I hope they don't return.

  9. What the hell?? I missed it?? Is that fair to do to us loyal readers who like drama too???

I guess it is better to have the comment moderation, but wish I would have seen it.

  10. I read your blog regularly and missed the last few days, so I didn't get to read the comment you refer to. However, I have read your blog for long enoough to know this isn't the first time you've had a not-so-nice blog posted. I used to read another blog (and only stopped when it was made a private, by-invitation-only blog)where the writer mentioned installing some software on her computer that gave you all kinds of info on who visited your site/blog. I'm not sure how detailed the info was, and maybe you're not interested in knowing that kind of info, but I thought I'd mention it. Of course, knowing that info might also make you choose to make your blog a private, by-invitation-only blog, and I wouldn't like that :)

  11. What is with blog bashers?! I have one myself who seriously has problems. Ugh.

  13. I caught your drama - you did good to remove it. I am not sure I could have that kind of valor myself.

I am a bit envious of the hair do. I need a few replaced zebra stripes myself - it's been too long.
    Great family photo too!

  14. Forgot to add - if you ever need more Red Sox - or Pats togs, let me know. A couple of mine think that everything should have these logos attached - except for the one ds that likes the Yankees. One in every crowd I guess, huh?

  15. When you were twisting William's arm were you also doing the "gritted teeth smile with the hissing whisper threats"? I'm an expert on those! Love the happy faces. My kids had those same looks this year. Is that the same Santa as their first year?????

    ReplyDelete
  16. Their faces are amazing in the Santa photo....she looks bored to tears with Santa (so funny) and I bet in 11 years or so, you might have a matching face with her santa photo :)
I saw your comment and I liked it but it is probably good (I guess) to have removed it...lets spread good cheer this time of year. But, it still was funny! I love your humor. (and I agree Regina's comments on it).

  21. PS I hate to give this one up but I would definately place her (Regina) in the one of the favorite cuzzins category!
She's really really good - like Angel good. (personally, I think its bribery...red sox uniforms... I mean really...) ;-)

    But where's yours?? (and Charles?)
