wednesday weigh in

Last week my father was admitted to the hospital for a stroke.

Today, my mother was admitted to the hospital for a heart attack.

Yesterday, I was offered another opportunity to transfer to the east coast with my company.

With thoughts swirling around my parents ... and whether I'll ever beat this virus that has inhabited my body for the past three weeks ... and researching real estate on the eastern seaboard, I haven't done much exercise.

Although my tear ducts have been getting a pretty good work out.

  14. So sorry about your folks. My dad just had a mild heart attack 2 weeks ago. He has had two stents put in and will go in next Wednesday for at least one more. So scary when parents get older.

Hang in there. Our home has been on the market for two weeks now. A few nibbles but nothing solid. Then the market crashed. yikes. "Looks like I picked the wrong time to stop sniffing glue."

  23. So sorry Jen about your parents. I was shocked to read about your mom, especially. She seems to be in such great health, so I'm sure she'll be out of the hospital soon.

I sure hope you can come to a decision with moving too. It all really comes down to family in the end, and I know you'd love to be closer to them.

    Hugs,

(ps..The east coast is a great place to live....no earthquakes, fires, tornados, hurricanes, no big blizzards, its great!!! Plus, you already have family out here, so its not like you would be moving to someplace where you knew no one!)

  45. I am so, so, so sorry to hear about your parents. I, too, live far away from family and friends, and in instances where someone is sick or hurt (dad having heart surgery then 3 months later, starting chemo, my dear friend being in a coma for a week to stop her seizures, etc., another friend having a life-threatening car accident), you just feel so far away.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I feel you, and I hope you are able to walk in peace through the coming days (and weeks and months) as your parents begin to heal and as you make decisions regarding your career and where you will be living.
