We've made that drive across Texas so many times.

"Just push it. Push it to Odessa."

I sure hope Charlie got a steak before you pass the feed lots in El Paso. You'll smell 'em long before you see them. We once stayed in a rest stop right after those feed lots.

Phoenix is a LONG WAY! I'm crossing my fingers that Charlie doesn't leave you in Deming, New Mexico.Michele Shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15061520456909635254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24756113.post-89001470102053369482008-07-11T13:33:00.000-05:002008-07-11T13:33:00.000-05:00Hi guys it's Jeanmarie. when you start your trip f...Hi guys it's Jeanmarie.
when you start your trip from Phx to San diego, you should make a pit stop at Yuma. there isn't really anything after that until you hit SD. Get off at 16th ST and make a LEFT off the exit ramp and go to Burger King. they have an indoor playground that we always stop at on our trips to PHX. you can buy Kraft Mac and cheese for only $1.50 so the kids will eat. the barney's gas station along the way to BK is the cheapest but they don't accept credit cards at the pump, it's a higher price for credit cards. go to the gas station just beyond the Burger King. There will be 2 on the left, i can't remember the names. If you like Carls Jr. they also have a playground. It is right before the BK on the RHS.

Also we are still having the going away party for the Halversons on 7/13 at 10:30am at my house, hope you are up for it. I sent out an evite, check it out when you get home, or just email or call me. I think you are two very courageous young parents to undertake such a journey. (The operative word is "young") I have felt tired just reading about your adventures, but what a trip for your children.

I love your zest for life and of course, as I have said before, I adore the way you love your kids!

I think your little guy is just telling you with his screaming that he is ready to be able to run when his brain tells him to run! That is a long journey for little ones and it sounds like they have been pretty good little passengers for the most part.

My guess is that your own bed and home is going to look pretty good to you, too!

Have a great rest of the trip.

Blessings on all of you.

Joan

p.s.
